This equipment is used to detect pores and
pinholes in electrically non-conductive protective
coatings on metal or concrete using the High
Voltage Method according to ISO 2746, ISO 8289
and DIN 28055.
Applications
• Pore testing in containers, oil tanks, agitator
vessels, pipes, boilers, etc., lined with enamel
or plastic
• On building seals, made of non-conductive coatings
• In the construction industry.
Suitable electrodes are available for every
application. The desired electrode is simply
screwed onto the test head.
The left picture shows the pore testing of an
enamel coating of a boiler using a flat electrode.
The pore testing of interior pipe walls is done
by means of rotating electrodes (left picture).
Some test samples like plastic foils etc. have
the tendency for static charging. For this application
the HV20D with dynamic monitoring of the high
voltage in combination with a rubber roller electrode
is ideally suited.
In this case the time gradient of the high voltage
change is evaluated for pore detection instead
of its absolute value, which is affected by the
static charging. |
